Bailey Christina King

Bailey King is a born and raised West Virginian and lifelong lover of music. With a rich ancestry from San Giovanni in Fiore, Calabria, Italy, and a descendant of the Greco family of Shinnston and the Marozzi family of Gore, Bailey was taught to take great pride in her Italian heritage from a young age. For her, the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival remains one of the most significant and favorite events of the year, a time of excitement and family togetherness. Bailey’s musical foundation began early through her participation in local choirs and high school theater. This, alongside her upbringing, cultivated a persisting passion for music, which she expresses through her voice. Her musical influences are notably diverse, from the 1970s and 80s folk and rock she grew up hearing to a later found appreciation in the syncopated sound of 30s and 40s jazz and blues. While she maintains a deep respect for all genres, Bailey focuses on expressing her personal attachment to music through every song she sings.

Fun Fact: Her mother sang “Santa Lucia” at the first Italian Heritage Festival back in 1979 when she was just 5 years old.
